I went to Vacuum Doctor after my Miele stopped working a few days after having it serviced at another store in Sarasota. My gut told me that I should not return to that place, and I was encouraged to read the positive feedback others had provided about Vacuum Doctor. My experience was just as positive. JD is very experienced and honest. He was able to fix my vacuum (Had to replace the motor which was under warranty) which was a huge relief to me as we are so dependent on it. AND when we next need to buy a new one I will absolutely purchase from him as he truly informs his customers. He is the best resource to understand the differences in the Miele line. I feel it very important to support local business owners that really do right by our community.

Nathan demonstrated the retractable vacuum system and I was instantly sold. We had a built-in vacuum for many years in our previous home and while it was nice, fighting the hose all the time meant that we often passed up using it in favor of our regular vacuum cleaner. Now the built-in is all we use. Very clever idea!

Just completed a 12-month whole-house remodel that included the purchase and installation of a Cyclo-Vac central vacuum. In the process, we used our Miele canister vac to cleanup construction dust and burned out the motor. JD’s Vacuum Dr. Team did an A-1 design and install of the central vac and repaired our Miele under warranty (at JD’s suggestion). We employed 10 subcontractors for various disciplines and the Vacuum Dr. is tied for 1st Place with the electrical contractor! Thanks, Vacuum Dr., we love our Cyclo-Vac with the self-retracting 50 ft. hose, Bluetooth On/Off operation and garage port for cleaning the cars!

The Vacuum Doctor is absolutely the BEST place to go for sales & service from someone who cares about his customers & how they are treated.  Recently, I purchased an Oreck carpet cleaner- a great machine – & cannot begin to express how sincere & honest the store owner, JD, is.  Don’t waste your time & money at other Sarasota stores. Purchased a RAINBOW from a homeowner a while back (6 yrs ago) WISHED I would have purchased it from here! In fact he has better machines than my Rainbow, still he took my RAINBOW & serviced it, 5 yrs ago & for amount of time he spent on it he charged very little, I wish he was a Doctor or my Mechanic, like I say he is so honest. Have sent many clients & friends over, can’t say that about too many business. Everyone has been delighted by his service, even when there is more than 2 customers he still has the knack of handling them with respect, very impressive & refreshing in today’s world. Everyone is happy with purchases & service, I always tell them wait till he fixes something for you will be really happy with him. Great guy & store

JD Helped my wife and I when we needed a new vacuum cleaner. After talking with him a long time and looking at the wide variety of options in his shop we settled on a refurbished vacuum that was perfect for our needs. Without JD’s patient attention to understand our needs we would have made a mistake. Because he took the time to understand exactly what we wanted and needed we ended up with the ideal vacuum for us.

I had purchased a Miele vacuum from Topps in Sarasota. Shortly after I ran into a problem with it due to the salesman not informing me of the proper way to use this sophisticated machine. When I went back they refused to help. Miele directed me to Vacuum Doctor who knew more about how the vacuum worked and all I needed to do was flip a switch 2 notches higher. I listened to Advice that other customers were getting & I was impressed – this man is a vacuum savant – many brands – I’ve recommended him to a few neighbors for repairs & they’ve all been extremely pleased.

They installed my central vacuum on a very professional way. They gave us also an excellent support in selecting the equipment and were able to find a smart installation which saved us about $500.

We just picked up parts, but they were very helpful.

Honest and efficient!

I work for a large church. I brought an older Electrolux upright vacuum in for refurbishing. Vacuum Doctor did an outstanding job. They go above and beyond because I was told what was replaced and what I paid for. When I got back to work and used it I found they had also replaced a connector hose and added freshener which was a nice touch.

Owner provided the service and was very professional and friendly. Gave us some good information about our system.

JD, owner/manager was extremely helpful. He listened to my dilemma with my shedding dog + pergo flooring = nightmare! He did not try to sell me something just to make a sale nor did he try to sell me the most expensive top of the line machine. What I did get is a canister vacuum with a powerful punch. It could probably suck my dog up! This little guy is called “Clean Obsessed”. It has no frills except a Powerful suction. Awesome hands down for those with pets that shed, have cheap pergo floors, and rent a small place! Thank you, JD!

We have purchased two vacuum cleaners from JD…and as the first reviewer says, he is incredibly knowledgeable about every one of his products.  We had a bad experience with another vacuum repair shop shortly after we moved to Sarasota, so when we decided to purchase a new machine we went to see JD, even though it’s a bit of a long drive for us.  He is very thorough and takes the time to listen so he can recommend the right vacuum for you.  We would never consider going to anyone else…we highly recommend them!!!

The owner was extremely helpful in figuring out which system would be best for me. He spent a lot of time with me in the store and then stopped by my home to help me make sure I was getting the right system and find the right place for it. It was a wonderful experience. It works great and I couldn’t be happier with it!

Was on a bike ride and needed a charge for my phone so I could use my GPS(new to area). JD was very helpful. While waiting for the phone to charge had an opportunity to see several customers get the help they needed. It was obvious this is s professional operation. Each customer was given a few options and had their needs taken care of without pressure. Great example of why it’s good to shop local. You should go here for all your Vacuum needs.

This is definitely one of the most exceptional companies we have had in our home! We needed to update our central vacuum system and JD was an absolute pleasure from start to finish. He is knowledgeable, patient, kind and provided true “old fashioned service with pride”. On top of that, the vacuum is incredible! I only wish I had done it sooner! I went to Vacuum Doctor based on the reviews I read on YELP. Prior to that I had been to another vacuum repair shop and had been very unimpressed with them. JD took the time to listen to us and explain the pros and cons of several models. He is probably the most knowledgeable and honest vacuum dealer and repair person we have ever dealt with. We purchased a SEBO canister vacuum – I had always had uprights and wasn’t too sure I would be happy with the canister – he told us to use it a couple of days and we could bring it back and exchange it if we weren’t happy. Not a problem because I LOVE the vacuum he recommended for us. This is definitely the place you should go to for a vacuum purchase or repair!

What a great experience dealing with JD, The Vacuum Doctor!  My central vacuum system needed repair.  He gave me several options with price quotes.  With honesty and integrity he recommended the appropriate solution for me, which was not the most expensive.  I felt totally comfortable having him in my home.  He is technically knowledgeable and did the job in the promised time frame at a reasonable cost.

Fabulous . I am extremely pleased. I received a call from from the owner not three minutes after I placed an inquiry thru Home Advisor. He was here the next day, and the very prescribed time and did a thorough, informative, outstanding installation. You’d be making a huge mistake if you did not use this company.

“JD” is the owner of a small business in Gulfgate that been there for 20 years or more. He was prompt, courteous, knowledgeable. The bad news was that we needed a new unit to replace the builders’ cheap one, after six years. Now we have one that is guaranteed for ten. I had taken the old one apart myself, and watched as JD went through the steps to verify that it couldn’t be used anymore. What a difference!
